The
l.i.d.o.
research group is with the
Department of Communication, Computer and System Sciences (DIST)
at the
University of Genova
, Italy.
l.i.d.o.
is the result of the joint effort made by the University of Genova and Siemens
in Genova. In a spirit of true cooperation, this laboratory, situated in DIST's
main structure, is staffed by University members as well as by Siemens
personnel. This scientific pole can be seen as the link between the two worlds
of University studies and industrial applied research. [more]...
l.i.d.o.
focuses on studying advanced methodologies and tools in Information Technology
and Industrial Automation, offering concrete possibilities of experimenting and
utilizing such applications for real-time industrial process control.
Within the collaboration with industry,
l.i.d.o.
activities follow two main streams: the study of Object Oriented software
development models for concurrent and distributed application in Industrial
Automation; the study of object-based programming languages for real-time open
control systems.
In addition, other topics are currently investigated: web application design,
database systems, and agent oriented programming techniques.
